A multi-car crash in Miami-Dade, FL has left one dead and another two injured. The accident occurred around 11:45 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Bird Road and Southwest 137th Avenue on Thursday.
According to witnesses, an unidentified driver of a silver SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed (around 90 MPH) when they crashed into two stopped cars at a stoplight, then crashed into two others in the intersection head-on.
One person was killed in the wreck, while two others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. It is believed that one of the injured parties was the driver of the SUV.
Witnesses say that the driver of the SUV was driving so negligently that he or she must have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the wreck, but police have not yet confirmed that.
Blood samples have reportedly been taken from the driver, and an investigation into the crash is still ongoing. Charges may still yet be filed against the negligent driver who killed at least one other person.
Our sympathies go out to all of those involved in this fatal crash. We urge everyone in Miami-Dade to drive safely and keep their eyes out for negligent and dangerous drivers.
