IONTB Local News reported recently that a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred in the Tampa Bay community of Madeira Beach last Wednesday, causing the death of a local resident.
According to officials of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2nd at 13665 Gulf Boulevard in the St Petersburg suburb of Madeira Beach, located on a barrier island on the gulf coast west of the city. Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash site to find a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck that had overturned, ejecting the driver, a man 27 years of age, from the vehicle. The man was medically transported to Palms of Pasadena Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from injuries sustained in the accident.
Investigators stated that the victim was driving the Ford F-150 pickup truck southbound on Gulf Blvd when for unknown reasons still under investigation, he veered off the 5-lane roadway and struck a palm tree growing from a short concrete center median. The investigation is currently in progress by the Major Accident Investigation Team of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department. Next of kin has been notified, although no other specific details are currently known about the incident.
