The Bradenton Herald reported recently that three adults and one child were seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident on Thursday, December 17 in Manatee County, with the child remaining in critical condition.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened between 2:25 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Thursday afternoon, along U.S. Highway 41 near 35th Street West just north of the town of Palmetto, A woman from Bradenton, 18 years of age, was driving a sedan south along U.S. 41 when for unknown reasons still under investigation she veered off the southbound portion of the roadway and over the grass median, into the northbound traffic lanes.
Her car collided head-on with a Hyundai SUV occupied by a Sarasota woman 36 years of age along with a male child, which made the SUV collide with a Cadillac sedan carrying a woman from Palmetto, 34 years of age.
The child, whose age was not released, was taken to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St Petersburg, while the three adults all suffered serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening and were taken to various hospitals including Blake Medical Center. The accident remains under investigation.
