WCTV reported recently that a fatal motor vehicle accident took place in Wakulla County on Friday, January 8, tragically taking the life of a woman from Bristol, Florida.
According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place between 1:55 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Friday, January 8, 2021, on Bloxham Cutoff Road near the intersection of Bloxham Cutoff Road and Rosda Shingles Road in northern Wakulla County. The crash report stated that a single-vehicle rollover crash occurred. A driver was westbound on FL State Road 267 and, after passing the Rosa Shingles Road intersection, left the roadway to the right onto the north shoulder for unknown reasons still under investigation.
The vehicle rotated after entering a ditch and then overturned multiple times. It finally came to a halt with the front end partially blocking the road, facing southwest. The car’s sole occupant, a woman from Bristol, FL 52 years of age, died in the accident.
There was heavy police activity reported in the area and the road was shut down for at least seven to eight hours, reopening around 10 p.m. EST Friday morning. No cause has been ascertained for the accident.
