A speeding driver caused a fire and heavy damage at a self-storage facility in Orlando this week. The accident occurred Thursday morning.
Natasha Persaud, 20, was driving a BMW on Old Winter Garden road in Orlando, FL, when she lost control of her vehicle, hit a ditch, became airborne, rolled, and crashed her roof into a self-storage facility.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a trailer and limousine already engulfed in flames. Persaud’s car narrowly missed colliding with the self-storage facility’s offices.
A witness said Persaud’s car was traveling at nearly 100 mph at the time of the accident. Persaud was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center after the crash, sustaining only non life-threatening injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash, primarily what made Persaud travel at such high speeds. They are trying to determine if alcohol or drugs were involved in the wreck, and charges may still be pending.
Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this frightening car accident. We urge all those in the Orlando area to drive safely.
