St Lucie County Accident Kills One, Injures One

WPTV NBC Channel 5 West Palm Beach News reported recently that one local woman was killed and another motorist injured in a tragic motor vehicle accident that took place along Walton Road and Indian River Drive in St Lucie County on the evening of Saturday, May 15, 2021.

According to a press release issued by local police officials, the incident occurred between 7:10 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the intersection of Walton Road and Indian River Drive in St Lucie County. A silver Toyota was traveling east on Walton Road and crossed the railroad tracks, where it struck a silver Chevrolet at the intersection. The force of the impact sent both vehicles tumbling down an approximately 30-foot embankment and into the Indian River Waterway adjacent to the roadway. A third vehicle, a silver Toyota truck, was clipped in the impact but did not fall down the embankment. 

Bystanders and responders from the St Lucie County Fire District Both drivers who went down the embankment were transported to a local hospital, where one was pronounced dead. The other driver had severe injuries, while the driver of the third vehicle was uninjured.
