Boca News Now reported recently that a woman was killed in Boca Raton, FL on the evening of Saturday, February 20, 2021 in a tragic motor vehicle accident.
According to officials with the Boca Raton Police Department, the incident took place on Saturday, February 20, 2021 between 8:55 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on the 2800 block of North Federal Parkway, near Legacy Plaza and the Boca Raton La Quinta Inn. A Boynton Beach woman, 51 years of age, was killed in the accident.
A 2015 Mercedes-Benz was traveling south on North Federal Highway in the interior lane. As it approached the intersection of North Federal Highway and NE 29th Street, a 2012 Nissan was attempting to turn onto the northbound lanes of North Federal Highway from NE 29th Street. The 2015 Mercedes struck the 2012 Nissan. The force of the impact ejected the 2012 Nissan’s driver from the vehicle, where she was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Witnesses say they believe speed was a factor in the accident, but police caution that the investigation is ongoing and it’s too early to determine the official causality. Any witnesses with relevant info are asked to contact investigators.
