The Palm Beach Post reported that a pedestrian is dead after being struck by a driver in West Palm Beach early Saturday morning. The weekend was full of tragedy as another man lost his life in a separate fatal accident Sunday evening.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, a West Palm Beach man was driving a 2020 Lexus in the outer lane of Okeechobee Boulevard, just east of the Florida Turnpike, just after 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning when he struck an unidentified pedestrian woman who had been crossing Okeechobee from the north side of the roadway. Neither the age of the driver nor the pedestrian was reported. While the driver of the Lexus was uninjured, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Channel 3 WEAR News reported on a fatal accident in Okaloosa Island Sunday, in which a 34-year-old Mississippi man lost his life. At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Mississippi man was driving east on U.S. Highway 98, just past the Destin Bridge, when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and entered the westbound lanes of the highway, colliding with a westbound vehicle. A third vehicle was also hit during the incident. The man was killed in the accident. No further details have been released.
