News 4JAX in Jacksonville reports that a fatal crash occurred along Interstate 10 in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 10th in Jacksonville.
A spokesperson for the Florida State Patrol told reporters that a vehicle left the I-295 ramp that enters Interstate 10. The car struck a concrete pole located in the median of the highway. A second vehicle struck the first vehicle. Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash.
A 37-year-old woman inside the first vehicle was declared dead at the scene, while her 7-year-old daughter had to be extricated from the wreckage. The driver of the second vehicle also had to be removed by emergency crews. Both the little girl and the second driver suffered severe injuries and were rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
This is a developing story. So far, officials have not provided any further details about the current condition of the surviving crash victims or what might have caused the accident.
