WJTV CBS Channel 12 Focused On You News and MyPanhandle.com reported recently that three people were killed, including a small child, in a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred in Bay County on the evening of Friday, May 14, 2021.
According to a press release issued by officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on the evening of Friday, May 14, 2021 along Highway 231 near Webber Road in Fountain, a city in Bay County about thirty miles northeast of Panama City. Three sedans were involved in the accident.
For unknown reasons still under investigation, a man from Altha, 65 years of age, drove into the wrong lane and collided with another vehicle head-on, hen veered off the roadway and overturned. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, causing his death. He was declared dead at the accident scene.
The vehicle that was struck had three occupants, a male 29 years of age, a woman 21 years of age, and a child one year of age. None of them were wearing a seatbelt, and the woman died after being transported to Bay Medical Center while the child died two days later. The man had serious injuries and is still recovering.
