The Miami Herald reported recently that a man was killed and seven more injured in the evening hours of Sunday, February 14 in Broward County after a major traffic accident involving two vehicles.
According to officials with the Coconut Creek Police Department the incident took place on Sunday, February 8, 2021 between 6:40 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) at the intersection of Sample Road and Northwest 42nd Avenue in the Broward County community of Coconut Creek. One of the victims was declared dead at the scene of the accident, while seven others were injured to varying degrees and taken to local hospitals for treatment of the injuries they sustained in the wreck. The incident closed Sample Road between Lyons Road and the Florida Turnpike for officers of the Coconut Creek Police Department to conduct an investigation into the fatal accident.
Police have not disclosed the identities of the victims in the fatal crash, the determination of who was at fault, vehicle descriptions, or any other specifics of the accident. No further details were available to the press. The accident remains under an active investigation and eyewitnesses are asked to contact the Coconut Creek Police Department with any relevant information.
