According to officials with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash oiccurred on the morning of Thursday, January 7 at U.S. Highway 90 and Linda Lane in the northern Florida city of Defuniak Springs. First responders arrived at the scene and were forced to shut down traffic through the intersection for several hours.
The accident is still under an active investigation.
The Northwest Florida Daily News reported that both southbound lanes of FL State Route 85 were shut down just south of the town of Crestview following an accident Thursday in which a tractor-trailer overturned. A pickup truck was also involved, which had its rear end smashed in the event.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office , the incident took place near Rattlesnake Bluff Road. The cause of the accident is unknown, as is the extent of any injuries that occurred in the accident.
