Jacksonville Wreck Sends Five To Hospital

First Coast ABC / NBC News reported recently that a “major” crash occurred at St. Johns Town Center in the Jacksonville area in the evening hours of Tuesday, January 5 that ended up with five people hospitalized. 

According to officials with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, the incident took place on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 between 7:20 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) at the intersection of Town Center Parkway and Midtown Parkway near St Johns Town Center, a super-regional open-air mall on the southeast side of the Jacksonville Metropolitan Area. Three adults and two children were medically transported to a local hospital with varying degrees of injury, none of which were believed to be life-threatening. 

Drivers were advised to avoid the area as a large number of first responder units from various agencies responded to the call due to the number of casualties. 

First Coast News also noted that a two-vehicle crash in Clay County blocked all northbound lanes on Blanding Boulvard, a local thoroughfare. According tio the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened Wednesday morning at the intersection of Blanding Boulebard and Long Bay Road in Middleburg. No other details have been released at this time.
