Wink News reported recently that a fatal motor vehicle accident in Naples cost the life of a motorist and blocked a major roadway in the area on Sunday, December 27.
According to law enforcement officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 27 in the Naples area, along Airport Pulling Road near the intersection of Airport Pulling Road and Progress Avenue. A man from Naples, 37 years of age, was driving north on Airport Pulling Road approaching the turn lane at the intersection with Progress Avenue when for unknown reasons still under investigation he veered off the roadway and into a traffic light pole.
The accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol states the man was ejected from the vehicle and the car hit with sufficient force to split the car in two upon impact; it was speculated that the car was moving at an excessive speed, although the investigation is currently in progress and no other details have been made available as of yet.
The northbound lane of Airport Pulling Road was closed for the investigation and cleanup of the incident and local motorists were advised to take alternate routes to avoid delays and/or congestion.
