About the Chalik & Chalik Community Involvement Scholarship
Jason and Debi Chalik, founders of Chalik & Chalik Injury Lawyers, place a great deal of importance on community. The firm demonstrates its commitment to community throughout the year, donating generously to local and national charities, sponsoring high school academic clubs, awarding the annual Chalik & Chalik Injury Lawyers Cancer Survivors Scholarship, as well as supporting the Jewish community in many ways.
“It’s important that my generation does its part,” Jason said in an interview with South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
To encourage and acknowledge a new generation for “doing its part,” Jason & Debi conceived a new scholarship, the Chalik & Chalik Community Involvement Scholarship, aimed at college-bound students who share the Chalik’s passion for giving back.
“Academic excellence is all well and good—it will help you as an individual to succeed in life,” Jason says. “But giving back to the community contributes to the common good—it makes the world a better place.”
The Chaliks emphasize that a student can demonstrate a “giving back” attitude not only by volunteering, but also through monetary donations, and through deliberate, tiny acts of kindness, like spending time with someone lonely, taking out the trash for an elderly neighbor, making a thank-you card for someone in the military.
“We truly believe that anyone can brighten the world with their unique gifts, their valued time, and any treasure,” Debi says. “We hope this scholarship will help a student who shares our love of community and who, by thriving academically, will be further enabled to continue their love of giving back.”
