Fox Channel 13 News Tampa Bay reported recently that two local motorists drove off the side of an elevated highway entrance ramp along Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale on the afternoon of Sunday, May 16, 2021, almost exactly 24 hours after another car tumbled off the ramp at the exact same spot.
According to a press release issued by officials with the Florida Highway Patrol as well as information from Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, the first incident occurred between 3:25 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Saturday, May 15, 2021 along an elevated Interstate 95 entrance ramp near State Road 84 in Fort Lauderdale.
A black Cadillac SUV hit the wall on the elevated entrance ramp and tumbled down ten or more feet to the ground. The two occupants of the vehicle, both men, were extricated from the vehicle by the Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department and transported to a local hospital as trauma alert patients.
A temporary repair was made to the wall that evening, but almost exactly 24 hours later, a white sedan tumbled through the wall and down onto the ground in the same place, landing on its roof. The woman driving the sedan was hospitalized with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
