The Daytona Beach News Journal reported recently that a Deltona man was killed in a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Normandy Boulevard and Vercelli Street on the morning of Sunday, May 2, 2021 when his car collided with a tree.
According to a press release issued by officials with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred between 4:55 a.m. and 5:05 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the intersection of Normandy Boulevard and Vercelli Street in Deltona. A Deltona man, 21 years of age, was driving a 2008 Pontiac Vibe and lost control of his vehicle while passing another vehicle. He veered off the roadway and slammed into a tree at high velocity, causing severe damage to the vehicle.
The young man was treated at the scene of the accident and then medically transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, where he succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the impact.
