WTSP CBS Channel 10 News Tampa Bay reported recently that a woman was killed while crossing U.S. Federal Highway 301 in Pasco County in an incident early in the morning on Monday, April 26, 2021.
According to a press release issued by officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred between 12:20 a.m. and 12:25 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Monday, April 26, 2021 along U.S. Federal Highway 301 in Pasco County. A Dade City woman, 35 years of age, was crossing U.S. 301 when she was struck by a truck traveling northbound along the highway. Troopers stated she walked right into the path of the truck. She was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
WWSB ABC Channel 7 News reported recently that one person died in a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Playmore Road and West River Road in the town of North Port, also on Monday, April 26, 2021.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a dump truck hit a utility pole and overturned, knocking the pole down and leaving live wires on the ground. The incident blocked River Road between U.S. Federal Highway 41 and Playmore Road and traffic was rerouted. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
