The Suncoast News Tampa Bay reported recently that a motor vehicle accident on Friday, April 2, 2021 in Palm Harbor, FL led to serious injuries for a Clearwater motorist after he lost control of his vehicle and careened into the oncoming traffic lanes.
According to information provided by officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Friday, April 2, 2021 between 11:20 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on U.S. Federal Highway 19 near the intersection of U.S. 19 and Fox Chase Boulevard, north of Alderman Road. While approaching Fox Chase Boulevard in the outside southbound lane of U.S. 19, a Clearwater man 58 years of age, driving a pickup truck, reportedly drifted onto the shoulder, then over-corrected and crossed all southbound lanes and then the median before entering the northbound lanes of U.S. 19, where he collided with the left side of a van driven by a woman from Depew, NY, 56 years of age, sending it crashing into a sedan driven by a Tarpon Springs woman 54 years of age. Another Tarpon Springs woman, 43 years of age, was behind the other cars in an SUV and was unable to avoid colliding with the sedan.
The pickup truck driver sustained serious injuries in the accident, while the van driver sustained minor injuries. The other drivers were uninjured.
