The Palm Beach Post reported recently that a person was killed in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in an accident along Interstate 95 in the West Palm Beach area.
According to information provided by officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 between 1:45 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near 45th Street in West Palm Beach. The accident blocked all northbound lanes for the entire early morning period, eventually reopening around 7 a.m., causing severe congestion for the morning commute.
Authorities did not identify the person killed in the crash or release any information as to how the crash happened, how many vehicles were involved, or whether anyone else was injured.
This was the second fatal crash in almost the same place this month, following another fatal crash on northbound Interstate 95 near 45th Street on Tuesday, March 2nd, in which a teenager 17 years of age died. That accident occurred when a car broke down in the center northbound lane of the interstate at 45th Street and was struck by an SUV that couldn’t swerve out of the way quickly enough.
