The Orlando Sentinel reported on a 3-car accident in the Titusville area that killed two people Monday night in a tragic accident.
The crash took place around 8:20 pm on State Road 407, just south of Interstate 95, according to a spokesperson from the Florida Highway Patrol. A 27-year–old Debary resident was traveling west on State Road 407 in a pickup truck and, for unknown reasons still under investigation, crossed the center lines and traveled into the eastbound lanes. Meanwhile, a sedan driven by a 66-year-old New Smyrna woman was traveling east, with a Texas woman 41 years of age in her passenger seat. The pickup struck the front of the sedan. A third vehicle plowed through the debris although it didn’t directly impact either of the other vehicles.
The two women in the sedan were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while the driver of the pickup truck was seriously injured and airlifted by medical helicopter to the Orlando Regional Medical Center. There have been no updates made on their condition.
The crash remains under investigation and eyewitnesses or anyone with relevant info should contact investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol.
