Fox Tampa Bay Channel 13 News reported recently that a motor vehicle accident in Clearwater led to four people being hospitalized in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 7 in the city of Clearwater, Florida.
According to officials with the Clearwater Police Department, the incident took place on Sunday, February 7, 2021 between 4:15 a.m. and 4:20 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) at 16 North Highland Avenue in Clearwater, FL. A man 24 years of age was driving a black 2006 Pontiac G6 sedan north on N Highland Avenue at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle and it slammed into a residence alongside the road. He had three passengers at the time, 21 years of age, 32 years of age, and 19 years of age.
The driver and one passenger were taken to St Joseph’s Hospital, while the two other passengers were taken to Bayfront Health St Petersburg. All four suffered injuries described as serious or critical by responders. Fortunately, the family living in the residence was out of town and not home when the car careened into their house. The accident remains under investigation.
