News Channel 4 Jax reported recently on a crash involving two dead and one injured near the Kent campus of the Florida State College at Jacksonville.
The accident happened around 2:20 a.m. last Sunday morning at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Plymouth Street. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that upon their arrival, one person had already died and two others were seriously injured. A second succumbed to their injuries upon arrival at the hospital, while the other is still fighting for their life in critical condition.
Details as to the exact events of the accident are scarce, but arriving news crews witnessed emergency responders using cutting equipment to cut into a dark-colored sedan that was missing large chunks of its top half. A second vehicle, a white SUV, had severe front-end damage. Both vehicles were in the northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard.
Traffic in both directions was stopped for several hours to allow for clearance of debris and for the police investigation. The investigation is being handled by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit, and witnesses are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500.
