ClickOrlando.com and The Orlando Sentinel each reported on a deadly three-vehicle accident in Brevard County that led to the deaths of two motorists last Sunday evening.
According to spokespeople from the Florida Highway Patrol, a sport-utility vehicle (SUV) was headed westbound on Kings Highway with a 58-year-old woman driving with a 59-year-old man in the passenger seat, both residents of Port St. John. For reasons unknown but still under investigation, the driver failed to slow down appropriately upon approach and bumped into another SUV in front of it, driven by a Cocoa woman who was 51 years of age. The SUV then swerved into the eastbound lane and hit a third SUV in a head-on collision. This caused the first SUV to overturn as it exited the roadway. While no one in the other vehicles was injured, the driver and passenger of the first SUV both died in the accident and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation. No further information has been released about the identities of the deceased or other injured people, the specific details of the accident, or any other relevant information. Witnesses are asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol with any details.
