The Daily Commercial reported recently that both motorcyclists were killed in a two-vehicle accident along County Road 44A in Eustis, FL on the evening of Sunday, May 2, 2021.
According to a press release issued by officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred between 7:25 p.m. and 7:35 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Sunday, May 2, 2021 along County Road 44A near Eldorado Drive in the town of Eustis, FL, in the central Florida region of Lake County.
A man from Rustis, 20 years of age, was riding a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle north on County Road 44A when for unknown reasons still under investigation he crossed the centerline of the roadway. He struck a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle that was headed south on CR 44A, driven by a Grand Island man 37 years of age, head-on. The collision ejected both drivers from their motorcycles, and they were each pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Both motorcyclists were wearing their helmets at the time of the accident, which remains under an active and ongoing investigation. Neither driver was identified by law enforcement officials as they were still attempting to notify next of kin, and no other information has been made available.
