A woman carrying a baby was struck by a pickup truck in Fort Lauderdale, FL on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Both were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue teams responded to a Florida pedestrian accident Tuesday morning when a woman walking with a baby was struck by a pickup truck in the intersection of Northwest 19th Street and Northwest 29th Avenue.
Fort Lauderdale spokesman Matt Little told press that the accident happened just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, involving a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by an unidentified driver.
The 22-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, was walking with a baby boy at the time of the accident. It is not yet clear if they were in a crosswalk or who was at fault.
Both the woman and the boy were taken to Broward General Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The severity of injuries is not yet known.
