Trolley Driver Cited in Fort Lauderdale Accident

A trolley driver has been cited by police after an accident in Fort Lauderdale, FL injured two.

The driver, whose name has not yet been revealed, struck two elderly people trying to cross A1A near Sunrise Boulevard. The accident happened last Monday morning on February 21, 2011.

An elderly woman was treated on-scene for minor injuries. Another elderly man was taken to Broward General Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

The driver of the trolley was ticketed for failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk. There is no word yet if there will be a civil suit pending.
