One Dead in Fort Lauderdale Car-Bicycle Accident

Posted on Jan 18, 2011

A bicyclist was killed last week outside of Fort Lauderdale in a deadly collision with a car. The victim has not yet been identified.

The rider, described as a middle-aged white male, was riding his bicycle on Northwest 25th Avenue at around 5:45 a.m. last Wednesday.

The man was struck by a car which was headed in the same direction, throwing him off his bike and onto the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

BSO Traffic Homicide will run an investigation into the accident. It is not yet known who was primarily at fault in the deadly Florida crash, though the driver did stay at the scene.

Our deepest sympathies go out to all of those involved in this car-bicycle accident. We remind everyone to watch for bicycles and motorcycles while on the road.
