A Florida truck wreck killed a Cantonment, FL man on Thursday after he lost control of his vehicle and careened into Escambia Bay.
Rodney W. Faircloth, 25, was driving west on I-90 around 8 p.m. on Thursday when his truck crossed over both westbound lanes, the median, and one eastbound lane before he overcorrected and crashed back into a guardrail.
Faircloth's truck flipped after making contact with the guardrail, sending it crashing into Escambia Bay. Faircloth was pronounced dead when emergency personnel pulled his truck from the water.
The inside lanes of westbound and eastbound I-90 were closed while the rescue effort was going on. Police searched by boat for any other passengers that may have been in the truck, but none were found.
The Highway Patrol is investigating whether alcohol or falling asleep behind the wheel may have contributed to this crash.
The Law Office of Chalik and Chalik send our sympathies to the family and friends of Rodney Faircloth.
