The Sun Sentinel recently released a report showing that Fort Lauderdale drivers are considered bad drivers, according to an insurer's list of safest places to drive.
Allstate Insurance produced their "Best Drivers Report" that ranks the nation's 200 largest cities in terms of the safest cities to drive in, and they listed Fort Lauderdale as 132nd out of 200. Last year, Fort Lauderdale ranked as 123rd, which indicates that Fort Lauderdale drivers are getting worse.
Some commuters on Interstate 95 would probably agree with this information, and others may be proud that they beat other Florida cities including:
Hollywood - received 154th place on the list
Miami - was placed at 178th place on the list
Hialeah - was positioned at 183rd place on the list
However, Port St. Lucie was ranked as the safest city in Florida at position 24 on the list.
The report indicates that, on average, a Fort Lauderdale driver will be involved in an accident once in every eight years. The national average is once in 10 years. Because Fort Lauderdale sees car collisions more frequently than the rest of the nation, drivers in South Florida need to continue to focus on driving safety in order to decrease their chances of being involved and injured in a Fort Lauderdale car accident.
Chalik & Chalik would like to remind Florida motorists to obey traffic rules, slow down, and buckle up in order to avoid Fort Lauderdale car crashes.
